Home / 2021 Rocky Talkie Search and Rescue Award

The Rocky Talkie Search and Rescue Award recognizes search and rescue teams for their invaluable service. Awards will be distributed to four teams. Each winner will be determined based on the applicant's description of a particularly notable or heroic 2021 rescue operation which illustrates the team’s skill level, passion, and dedication. We welcome nominations from SAR team members as well as rescued individuals.

Applications will be accepted up until 11:59 PM on January 31st, 2022. The four finalists will then be selected by a small group of representatives of the American Alpine Club, SAR professionals, and the Rocky Talkie team. Finalists will be contacted in early February 2022. Community voting will determine the final selection.

Finalist stories will be written up by a member of our team and shared in the American Alpine Club’s 2021 "Accidents in North American Climbing" book, published summer 2022.
