Introducing the Rocky Talkie Acoustic Headset

Introducing the Rocky Talkie Acoustic Headset

| 2 min read

There's a moment every hunter knows: you're closing in, the wind's in your favor, and the last thing you need is a radio crackling to life at full volume. One ill-timed radio call can derail the whole moment, whether it’s this exact scenario or while working a live production or event where discretion is key.

Our two new headsets—Acoustic Headset for Expedition Radio and Acoustic Headset for Mountain Radio—are designed for ultimate stealth mode in scenarios just like these. The headset features comfortable fabric tubing that wraps over either ear to keep comms clear and isolated to your ears only.

While each headset is designed to complement a specific Rocky Talkie adventure radio, they share the same key features:

  1. Enhanced Acoustics: Powered by an upgraded in-line driver and nylon-braided tubing, these headsets deliver noticeably clearer audio in a low-profile package

  2. Comfortable Fabric Tubing: Braided nylon provides a comfortable and durable over-the-ear fit for your left or right ear

  3. Aramid Fiber-Reinforced Cable: Built to survive intense friction and years of hard use, the abrasion-resistant cable features an integrated mounting clip, push-to-talk (PTT) button, and mic

  4. Splashproof/Snowproof: Rain, snow, or sweat, both headsets have an IP56 waterproof rating to keep up in the toughest terrain

  5. Versatile Fit Kit: Four interchangeable eartip options, including a small eartip, a large eartip, a left ear sport wing, and a right ear sport wing, allow you to choose between an acoustic seal or a more secure hold to control the level of ambient noise from the surrounding environment

  6. Stow-and-Go Travel Case: Keeps everything organized and packable, so you can just toss it in your bag and go

With both headsets, the radio itself also no longer has to sit at the shoulder or chest. It can clip to a pack strap or chest rig for better antenna positioning, while the cable’s mounting clip keeps the push-to-talk button and mic within easy reach.

And of course, they have the common goal of keeping you in constant comms with your pack, without alerting the pack. Let’s dig into the specifics.
