For downhill skiing this makes using the radio much simpler. I’m very glad I made the purchase.

Got a set of the mountain radios as I’m getting into back country skiing and they’ve worked great! But also started using them around the resort/ski area too during family trips and such and they’ve been a game changer. Meeting up with friends/family in the mountain, or making sure the kiddos are picked up from ski school on time has never been easier. Definitely recommend the hand mic. Originally got one with the pair but quickly determined a second is in order. Easy to use, reliable, 10/10 recommend.

We use these radios as a family while skiing. They allow for my eldest to have a little autonomy on the mountain while being able to check in with us to ensure safety and location. Great mountain radios!

The mic makes hands free easy. The clip on the back has a full 360 degrees of rotation to make it so you can place it in any orientation.

I'm a backcountry skier but also a cross-country ski coach. We bought these to use for both. Prior to having Rocky Talkies we had tried many solutions for keeping in touch between coaches on course during the races. We used these for the first time and it was the first time we could effectively communicate during the day. A huge relief to us as we manage kids all over about a 2 mile radius.
I've also taken them skiing in a resort, where they were amazing all day, and this week I'll be taking them into the backcountry.
The range is great so far, absolutely zero garbled transmissions. The battery life is superb, and it was cold. Like 8 degrees F cold, and no problem. I went through three camera batteries (which never happens) but these were still going strong the next day, and probably for many more if we had needed them (they still said full after 2 days of consistent use).
We have used them at ski practice all week too, and it's the first time we have been able to maintain contact on course without having to just sprint around shouting (because our other radios really never worked).
We are so happy with our Rockys and have already recommended them to all the coaches who don't have them already.
