Our Story

Rocky Talkie was founded in Colorado in late 2019 by longtime friends and adventure partners Bryce and Alex. Having searched in vain for a reliable radio that was easy to use in the backcountry, they set out to create their own.

After several years of prototypes and cycle after cycle of rigorous testing, the Mountain Radio was born: a radio rugged enough to withstand the elements, and quickly embraced by climbers and backcountry athletes. As the brand gained momentum, Rocky Talkie focused on expanding its product line, offering a new class of adventure radios to outdoor enthusiasts.

$2 PER RADIO TO OUTDOOR SAFETY

Since day one, we've donated $2 per radio sold to support Search & Rescue teams and other outdoor safety initiatives. It's our way of honoring volunteer responders and promoting outdoor safety awareness, because pushing limits shouldn't mean compromising safety.
