The Rocky Talkie Mountain Radio EU is our award-winning license-free radio, operating on PMR446 frequencies for use across Europe. Built with climbers and skiers in mind, this compact and durable radio is ready for any adventure where communication is critical.
A specialized lithium-ion battery delivers 3–5 days of life, even in extreme cold (–30°C). For durability, the radio features a shatterproof LED screen, a tough thermoplastic covering, and a secure carabiner + back-up leash system—far stronger than fragile plastic clips found on other radios.
Operating on the 446.0–446.2 MHz UHF band, the Mountain Radio EU transmits at the maximum power allowed without a license (0.5 watts). The radio has a tested max line-of-sight range of 40+ kilometers—though 1–5 km is typical in mountain terrain.
Simple and reliable, the Mountain Radio works right out of the box with zero setup required. Its five intuitive buttons and quick privacy code access make communication effortless and interference-free.
The Mountain Radio is compatible with our Waterproof Hand Mic for convenient and accessible communication in any environment.

I´m more than stoked ROCKIE TALKIE radios are now available in the alps. (Europe) Where I spent the most time doing what I do! For me having a radio, no matter which adventure or activity I´m doing, is key for a clear communication on the mountain with my partner and team! While skiing, paragliding or climbing it avoids misunderstandings and therefore it generates better team work and decision making!

Just returned from ice climbing in Norway. These radios made such a difference to good communication on the trip, including rather memorably coordinating a retreat from a pitch - no idea how that would have worked without radios. I imagine I'll be taking these on every multi-pitch climbing trip going forward.
