This Mountain Radio Kit combines our award-winning, license-free Mountain Radio with an Acoustic Headset.
The Mountain Radio was designed and tested in the Colorado Rockies with climbers and skiers in mind. Compact, simple, and tough, it provides up to 3–5 days of battery life (even in extreme cold) thanks to a specialized lithium-ion battery. Built with a shatterproof LED screen, thermoplastic protective housing, and an ultralight carabiner + backup leash, it’s engineered to withstand drops, impacts, and wet weather. The radio transmits at the maximum legal power for license-free use (2 watts), with a typical range of 1–5 miles in backcountry terrain (up to 35 miles in ideal conditions). Out of the box, it’s ready to go—no setup or license required.
The Acoustic Headset for Mountain Radio is a surveillance-style, low-profile wired headset that delivers enhanced comms in the field and is perfect for hunting, working events, or on a production set. Featuring an upgraded in-line driver and braided nylon acoustic tube with an abrasion-resistant cable, you can expect clear audio in a durable, comfortable package with a convenient mounting clip to keep your push-to-talk (PTT) button and mic within reach. The included Fit Kit provides four interchangeable eartip options to dial in ambient noise levels and comfort, all of which stow easily in the travel case.
Like all of our products, this Mountain Radio Kit is backed by our commitment to sustainability and 3 year warranty for personal use, and 1 year warranty for commercial use.

Working in a place with little cell reception and communication is key can be frustrating but with these radios they work perfectly for the warehouse I work at. They still sound crystal clear even when my warehouse is completely full and I am a good distance away from the building. Overall great investment in any company where communication between collogues is key!!!

Purchased a set for my wife to utilize while walking our dog, who weighs as much as she does and is much stronger. Low intensity I know, but handier than a phone in an emergency.

Used this in Yosemite to coordinate between friends, we managed a connection from the top of Vernal Falls back to the campground -- pretty incredible. Background lasted for the entire 2 day stint we were there and still around 50%. We connected with our buddies non-RockyTalkie's just fine. Not sure what else I could want.
